Truth

Is everything I believe in today accidental or intentional? 

Would the TRUTH I hold so dear in politics, in morality or in ethics be the same if…   

I was born into a German Jewish family in 1915? 

Into a poor American black family in 1940? 

Or a Palestinian during the last decade?  

I claim that I did not choose my place and time of birth... so did I choose my every truth ?

If I knew that I only have 6 months to live… what happens to my truth today?  I certainly notice a shift is what is important and not important.  

So what is the TRUTH of my being?   What is that essence that is untouched by my place of birth, economic status and duration of life?

Yet I get as positional and convicted about my beliefs today as any other person I talk to.  It is not until I reflect on the above, that I can notice a softening and openness to what others feel and believe.  

It is easy to fall in the trap entitled…  

“everyone else is seeing the world as I do… then how can they possibly believe differently?”

Perhaps the first truth I can rest in… is that we all see it different.
